Researcher Sun Jinglian (right) have collaborated with local residents to learn more about the feeding habits of pangolins.

Taiwan Researchers Collaborate with Hunters to Learn Pangolin Feeding Habits

For years, scientists around the world have tried, and yet repeatedly hit the wall during the process of finding out the nutrient composition of wild pangolin food.

In Taiwan, a group of local hunters and researchers have set a long-term track record of eight years in their research on wild pangolin feeding habits. They tracked 47 wild pangolins and even recorded a wild pangolin feeding its baby.

The collaboration between the researchers and locals is the key behind the successful experience. How do they work together, and how can Taiwan continue to contribute to international pangolin conservation?
