Karen was a reporter at the South China Morning Post based in Hong Kong from May 2018 to June 2020. Her interest includes wildlife trafficking, consumer fraud, tax havens. Her works exposed the lack of children’s privacy protection of Tik Tok, one of the world’s most popular social media apps. Previously, she was an investigative reporter at HK01, a Chinese language media based in HK. She covered the smuggling of pangolins from Africa to China via Hong Kong in collaboration with a reporter in Cameroon. Her works have received international and regional awards including SOPA awards.
